Today, the expansion of nationwide high-speed fiber optic networks is being driven by local operators and energy providers. This increases the requirement for planning new routes and a complete documentation of the media and routes in the GIS. BaSYS offers comprehensive tools for infrastructure planning and management of cable and fiber networks. The central data storage enables communication with other departments, for example to use an economical alternative to laying cables in the sewer.
Areas of application
End-to-end management of local, access and supra-local networks
Media such as fiber optic, copper, coaxial and hybrid network cables
Communication, control, signal and data cables as well as empty conduits
Above-ground and underground cable routing, as well as in sewers
Meshed and hierarchical structures as well as any mixed forms
Acquisition and planning
Automated transfer of existing network inventories via freely definable interfaces or graphic import
Extension of cable and fiber networks via planning functions for the generation of additional route sections
Templates for automatic data acquisition via access to integrated specialist libraries within planning
Definition of cable routing taking into account current cable train occupancy and network topology
Access to the specialist area of waste water for the economical laying of fiber optic cables in existing ducts
Planning and recording of cable elements and nodes in any level of detail up to connection networks for residential connections
Central data management of all cable and fiber-optic installations in clearly arranged forms. The elements of a route are divided into hierarchical levels, which allow the cable line objects to be mapped at different levels of detail. The freely definable export function allows data to be output in other standard data formats such as Excel, ASCII, Shape or DWG/DXF at the touch of a button. The export provides access to all attributes of the cable and fiber elements.
Visualization and editing in leading GIS and CAD systems
Flexibly adaptable visualization models according to practical requirements
Graphical representation of the route body assignment
Integration of attribute data forms for route elements and broadband facilities
Benefits and advantages
All network-related information is held centrally in a DBMS and is available there to all user groups for the various task areas. Cost-intensive data transfers can therefore be dispensed with. In addition, security is increased by centralized data storage.
BARTHAUER multi-platform concept
Thanks to the worldwide unique multi-platform concept, the data is available in the other BaSYS modules. In this way, the powerful tools for output, queries and reports, can be used. Direct access to the cable data is also possible in the BaSYS software products for operations management, maintenance management and asset valuation.
